From Mrs N. K. Mastrovich, 14 School Road, we have this picture of her brother, former Gisborne man W.O.1 G. H. Newcomb, who was awarded the M.B.E. in this year's honours. He joined the Territorial Force in 1951 and after service in Linton Camp joined the Hawkes Bay Regiment. He was a member of the North Auckland Regiment for a year and is currently a member of the 7th R.N.Z.A.K. which now incorporates the Hawkes Bay Regiment. A senior weapon training instructor with the regiment, Mr Newcomb was awarded the Efficiency Medal in 1969. A member of the Police Force since 1964, he has been stationed in Napier as a constable and has completed most of his army service, since joining the police force, during his holidays.

Robbie Thompson, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Thompson, Paringahau Station, Te Karaka, is certainly seeing something of the world. Since leaving New Zealand just on a year ago Robbie has been to Australia, Canada, U.S.A., London, and then on to South Africa where he is supervisor for a large removal firm. Robbie attended all the All Black games as a supporter — lucky dog!
