The Biggest Catch Yet

An estimated 20 tons of tuna was caught off East Cape by the Pirimai which fishes out of Tauranga. This is believed to be the largest catch of tuna ever made in New Zealand waters. The fish, which weighed anything from 20 to 30 pounds each, took over three hours to unload. They went to Watties fish factory for processing.
