Out & About

Lots of fun was had by pupils of the Central School on the last day of last term as teachers played pupils at basketball. The teachers dressed up madly for the occasion to produce much laughter.

Right out of season is this giant mushroom found by Karen Sabich, Auckland (left) and her cousin Michelle Wilson, 36 McDonald Street. They found it on the property of their grandfather, Mr W. Waugh, Manutuke. It is 11 inches across, pretty big compared to the normal sized ones the girls are holding.

If you think 900 boys playing football on Saturdays is a lot of footballers (page 65) then you must agree that there must be just about that many girls playing basketball on the same day. These girls are pictured at the presentation of prizes at the end of the season, a function held at the centre courts recently (page 35).
