Comings And Goings

Brigadier and Mrs Keith Farr and their youngest son Neville have recently arrived to take charge of the Salvation Army hostel, Te Waiteata, in Russell Street. Before being appointed to Gisborne they were in command of the Corps at Petone.

The new probation officer for Gisborne arrived in the city recently and has taken up residence in Iranui Road.
He is Lud Sparks, who with his wife Val, daughter Tania, and 10-day-old son, has come up from Lower Hutt to take up the appointment.

After spending the past three months as house surgeons at Cook Hospital, Doctors Val Turner, Tony Marinos, Bob Kyd and Alan Marx will return to their various medical schools to complete their final year. Val and Tony go back to the University of Sydney, while Bob, who hails from Auckland, and Alan who comes from Rotorua, return to Otago. They are pictured as named, from left to right, with their tutor, Dr E. M. McLachlan, at centre.
