Bounding Boat Race

"Over the bounding main" was certainly the order of the day for the 23 entrants in the power boat race held over a distance of 12 miles in the Bay.

A southerly wind which brought a slight swell and a small chop gave rise to some spectacular leaps by some of the boats but also caused the retirement of several through damage.

However, the venture was a great success and there were plenty of thrills for participants and spectators alike.
