Sentimental Journey

More than 80 cars took part in a trip over old Motu road organised by Travel and Holiday Association.

Many folk who used the road in the old days made the journey for sentimental reasons.

The twisting road needs care from the driver but passengers can see plenty of bush scenery.

Ru Bartlett, 78, showed the way to more modern cars on trip. Vehicle is Ford model A, 1929, cost £198, first went over Motu road on 26 November, 1934.
