Here and There
A little tap on the top of the water main in Montrose Street by a mechanical digger produced this rather startling display recently.
Jeanette Barker, of Cameron Road, popped in with this unusual shaped egg. Laid by a usually regular layer, may be it was the product of an unusually hectic Christmas.
From Mrs F. Lewis came this great discovery--a twenty-thousand-year-old mummified duck. Would you believe this season's sebago potato?
Mrs Amy Harris, 300 Kahutia Street, sent in this picture of her grand-daughter, Diane Brown, now at Tauranga, and Gail Parkinson. The picture was taken when the girls were going home after a swim when staying up at Tokomaru Bay. The mare belongs to the Chaffey family and gets around under the name of "Fifi".
The new bus shelter which stands in Kingsley Street was opened recently, which is odd because no buses run along Kings ley Street.
