Finalists in the N.Z. Overseas League post-primary public speaking contest held in the Intermediate School at Gisborne. The first place, winning the Anthony Eden Cup, went to Florence Jones, of Greymouth, a pupil of St. Margaret's College, Christchurch (left). The second and third placings were won by T. R. Peach (centre), of Napier Boys' High School, and Marguerita Carrigan (right), of King Edward Technical College, Bonedin.
