William John Atkin, only son of the late Mr and Mrs J. Atkin, Ormond, who celebrated his coming of, age recently at a party held at the residence of his sister, Mrs I. A. Lean, 165 Lytton Road.

Three hundred and twenty-five years is the combined total of the ages of these four sisters photographed in Gisborne. At the right is Mrs G. H. Clare, 38 Cook Street, who is well known in the Te Hapara district. Seated is Mrs Beckman, Epsom, Auckland (84), and behind her are Mrs Owen. Balmoral, Auckland (83), and Mrs Davie, Sandringham, Auckland (78).

Cadet Midshipman Leslie Merton, son of Mrs E. V. Ellis, of 12 Mangapapa Road, who is at present stationed at Plymouth, England. He spent years at the Royal Australian Naval College, graduating last March, and as part of his training in England has completed a three-month North Atlantic cruise in the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Triumph.
