Let There Be Light

Soaring 108 feet into the air the twin towers and harbour lights, recently erected for the new wharf, are now fully operational.

Constructed in Gisborne by the Harbour Board staff and local welders, the towers support a battery of eight lights each. Each light has an output of 1,500 watts, which when totalled is a lot of light.

On each tower five lights cover the new wharf and the other three the reverse direction, giving the whole area a good coverage as required.
