Skating Champs
At the N.Z. Roller Skating Champs held in New Plymouth a team of nine represented Gisborne. The team did well by winning the teams' parade, and Bruce Willson and Wendy Atkinson carried off the junior pairs freestyle.
Also travelling with Losch are Dieter Fingerle and Uta Keller, twice the world freestyle pairs champions.
The team is Kay Aberhart, Wendy Atkinson, Ron Scott, Maria Henderson, Cheryl Clayton, Barbara Scott, Bruce Willson, Elizabeth Gouch and Judith Crosby.

Due to appear in Gisborne on February 23 (tomorrow), along with New Zealand and local champions, is Karl-Heinz Losch of West Germany, five times world men's figure skating champion.
