Skin-Diving Championships

Three teams, from Wairarapa, Mahia and Gisborne, competed in the East Coast skin-diving championships held at Tolaga Bay on January 28.

Although surface conditions were good, the recent unsettled weather made for a scarcity of fish and disappointing catches.

Gisborne, the winners of the championships, totalled only 58½ points with Wairarapa at 50½ points.
