The Big Spread

Working together to lay the carpet in the lounge of the Poverty Bay Golf Club's new club house are the carpet firms of Ian Laskey, and McKenzie and Weatherley.

To cover the total area of 70ft by 37ft, 375 yards of 27in body carpet was sewn together in the N.Z. Shipping Co's woolstore, then rolled up and trucked to the club house where it was lifted by crane to the balcony of the top floor, manhandled through the doors into the lounge and put into position.
