These two blokes are always being left out in the cold. At left is John McMillan (an apprentice) and Michael Duffy, a refrigerating engineer. Both are on the staff of H. W. Clark Ltd. John, who is 20, has been with the firm for four years. He lives in Richmond and attended Waimea College He's a car enthusiast and finds shooting and rugby (Wanderers juniors) take up much of his spare time. Michael is also single, and has been with the firm 15 years. He's a car club man and is also keen on fishing.

Bob Adcock is foreman of the concrete and pumice section of H. Coltman Ltd and has been with the firm seven years. He's married and has two boys (both married). Gardening is his main hobby.

The Trafalgar Harrier Club, of which he is a keen member, takes most of the spare time of Jim McCallum, a sheet metal worker with Bennett's Plumbers. Jim has been with the firm 25 years and was five years overseas with the 26th Battalion. He's married, with two boys.

Lynda McKay is receptionist at Barry and Sargent, opticians. She's been with the firm 2½ years and is engaged to be married. She came from Gore seven years ago. Her interests include softball and basketball.

Travel is the business in which Claire Ford and Gwen Sutherland are engaged, and travel is their greatest interest, also. Claire is travel manager with Burns Philp in Nelson and has been with the firm 9 years. She's travelled extensively and is also keen on gardening. Gwen is married and has been with the firm 7 years, coming to Nelson from Dunedin. She's very keen on cooking exotic dishes.
