Money for Jam
Running a kindergarten is not easy. It has to be maintained and there are all kinds of hidden costs. The Nelson South kindergarten committee hit upon a novel way of raising some money last month. It held a jam and preserves evening and all sorts of sales tables did a swinging business. And they were successful, too - $100 successful, to be exact. Mike Coyle and Carol Peters, 2XN personalities, did the judging.
Helping out were Francie Hunia, Allsa Kinzett, Shirley Hagarty and Joyce Brooks.
Examining produce: Margaret Jamieson, Keitha King and Jean Harvey.
Also there were Josephine Hawke, Rachel Grandison, Margaret Taylor.
Grins from Josie Cowman and Margaret Lacey.
More produce for sale, with Nessie New and Anne Steel in attendance.
