When Mr Jim Russ, of Appleby, bought this old Hudson bomber for $100 at the end of the Second World War, it was completely operational and had, in fact, had very few flying hours logged against it. He wanted the heavy-duty tyres for a farm trailer and although other components have been used since, the biggest part of the old girl is still intact, though surrounded with farmyard paraphernalia.
