The old Brightwater Hall under demolition. Brightwater residents have been hard at it in recent years to raise money for a new hall and it is hoped to make a start on the new, big building, this month. The old section of the hall is about 100 years old.

A practical use for old Massey Harris hay rake wheels has been found by Brian Webby, Hope. He has used them to fence in his cow yard. Adorning them is Marie Win, Brian's fiancee.

Concerned at the damage being done to roads by overloaded vehicles, the Transport Department carried out an intensive check on heavy vehicles at the weighbridge at Hay's Corner. Here Theo Maythorne (left) checks the axle weight of this truck' under the supervision of Traffic Officer Fred Stade.
