Nelson Wins Soccer

Nelson was too good for Mariborough when the two provinces met to contest the Harris Cup in a soccer match at Greenmeadows. Nelson proved almost from the outset that as a combination it had a thick edge over Marlborough and always looked likely to notch points when close to the Marlborough goal. The Nelson centre forward, J. Woodfine, put Nelson on the road to victory with three fine goals in succession and thereafter the team never looked back.
