Natureland Handed Over to City

Natureland, the culmination of 3400 man hours cheerfully given by Jaycee nembers since February last year, was handed over to the city by the Nelson chapter at a ceremony before Christmas. This has been by far the biggest and most imaginative of the many projects undertaken by Jaycee and all who played their part in it are to be congratulated. The completed project (further aviaries and animal cages have yet to be built and the area landscaped) will cost £8500. At the time of handing over, the value of work in natureland was £5000. It seems strange to us that a project of this nature has been refused a grant from the vast Golden Kiwi funds, and we hope that the City Council and our Member of Parliament, will not let the matter rest there.
