Entries in the annual nature study project sponsored by the Nelson branch of the Royal Society at Motueka High School, Waimea College and Nayland College, were examined by the judges, Messrs Edwin Gourlay and John Cross recently. This old house in Cathedral Square (north-west) is being demolished to make room for the new broadcasting station of 2XN, much of which was destroyed by fire towards the end of last year.

This tower, erected by the 1st Richmond Venturer Scouts at the show, was a favourite with hundreds of children who climbed the rope ladder provided to get a view.
