The Nelson Amateur Athletics, Cycling and Harrier Club elected its youngest and latest 1ife member recently. Recipient of the honour, Jim Trathen, has given the club and the sport unstinted service since 1936, when he competed in sprints and middle distance events, right up to the present. Returning from overseas, he turned to the administrative side of the club and he has been a committee member, or held executive posts, every year since then. He was president for seven years.
