Long Service To St. John Ambulance
Members of the St John Ambulance from all parts of the Nelson district honoured Mr E. Ashton who recently retired from the position of district superintendent - a position he held for 35 years. Glowing tributes to the work of Mr Ashton were made by many speakers, and he was presented with a chiming clock by the brigade.
