Marybank, a Growing Settlement

With most of the choicest building sites in the heart of Nelson already built up, new home owners are going outside the city area to build. One area which has found much favour recently is Mary-bank, on the Wakapuaka Road. At present the only feature which detracts from the appearance of the area is the long channel in the foreground of this picture. With a little thought and action by residents and the Waimea County Council, this eyesore could be transformed into the first beauty spot to be seen by visitors entering Nelson.
