New Photographic Technique

×

At first glance this photograph would suggest to readers just another pleasant scene at Monaco. But we would ask you to study the photograph very carefully, as the manner in which this scene is portrayed represents many years of experimenting by well-known Nelson photographer, Ellis Dudgeon. He has produced a new negative developer which is a major break-through in photographic techniques. Around the tops of the black riding caps you will notice a white outline and on the lighter areas of the horses, a darkish outline. These "etching" lines have been formed on the negative during the developing process. Such a developer has unlimited possibilities but it would take more space than we have at our disposal to describe them further. The girls in the scene, incidentally, are Lesley Rooke, Jean Robertson (standing), Jackie Tyrell and Karen Barnett. (Ellis Dudgeon).
