Modern Frigate At Nelson

Making her second visit to Nelson since she was commissioned in 1960, H.M.N.Z.S, Otago honoured the birthday of Prince Philip by firing a 21-gun salute. Special saluting guns which fired a blank Bofors shell were used in the ceremony. Accompanying the vessel on this occasion was Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral R.E.Washbourne.
