If's Water Sports Time
Mr Harry Davy receives an unusual memento from Gavin Bruce, president of the Nelson-Marlborough Centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association, at the opening of the Nelson Swimming Club's season. The trophy comprises a piece of rock first touched by Van Leeuwan when he completed the first swim of Foveaux Strait, mounted on a piece of wood. It was a "thank you" trophy from Mr Ivan Wilson to Mr Davy for coaching his son and daughter while Mr Wilson was absent.
