Firearms Safety Week

While the Motueka Jaycees were concentrating on road safety their Nelson counterparts were engrossed in preventing firearm accidents. To this end they staged a "Firearms Safety Week" and the attendance at the two nights of lectures and demonstrations given by Mr C. G. Kelly, a national expert on ballistics, was positive proof of its success. The Jaycee rooms were packed and more than 150 were turned away on two nights.
