Model Boats Put Through Their Races
Stiff southwesterly winds made conditions difficult for competitors in the Easter regatta at the Tahu-na Beach modellers' pond. National championship speed events were held, as were open navigation and steering competitions. Before the wind rose the water was ideal for the tiny craft as they performed under the guidance of their drivers.
This Javelin class destroyer received much attention when it competed in the electric model class. It was driven by owner Alan Johnston of Dunedin.
