Clerk of the course at the Richmond picnic races was Norma Conza, and her mount for the day was 'Isaac's Gold.'
Off to Wellington are Paul and, Diane McLeod. Paul, a bacteriologist trainee, has been at Nelson Public Hospital for five years. He will further his career at Wellington Public. Diane was a primary school teacher at Stoke last year.
Also leaving Nelson is Keith Lavery, 17, who has joined the New Zealand Army Band. Keith, son of Mr and Mrs S. S. Lavery, Atmore Terrace, is a cornet player. He has been a member of the Nelson Municipal Band and, more recently, the Wakefield Citizens' Band. Keith worked in the spare parts department at Wright Stephensons.
Curtis–Tindale. Ann Lynette, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. (Bill) Tindale, 9 Wilkes Street, Richmond, to Ray-mond Samuel, youngest son of Mr and Mrs V. V. K. (Bill) Curtis, Palmerston North.
Enjoying the Mardi Gras were Mike McBride, Nelson, and Helen Moore, Dunedin.
Santa's youngest apprentice must surely be Graham John Dyer, four months, son of Betty and Ray Dyer, Richmond. Young Santa appears quite at home under that Christmas tree.
