This old model Prefect came to a muddy, wet landing when it went into a creek on Bolt Rd. The driver was not hurt but a cyclist who rode up to have a look hopped off his bike and disappeared over the edge into the muddy water. He wasn't hurt either.

With a bit of rope, a few strong blokes and a tow truck, the car was soon back on the road. That looks like Gary Taylor in the checked shirt, directing operations.

A busload of Westport Wahines was held up at gun point by the Nelson Wahines recently. The Westport girls were bundled onto a cart pulled by two of Fergus O'Connor's draught horses and driven to afternoon tea.

Getting ready for his first race in the P class section at the Nelson Yacht Club's opening day was Stephen Booth. Mum and Dad, Bill and Mrs Booth were on hand to assist and cheer.

Another starter in the P class was Cheryl Partington.
