There are enough logs on the Kosho Maru to keep an average sawmill going for about three years. The ship left Nelson recently with more than five million Haakon Dahl feet of logs, the biggest single shipment to leave Nelson. There are 22, 138 logs neatly stacked on the Kosho Maru and they measure nearly three million cubic feet. And that's a lot of wood.
