Our Cover

For a couple of days during the holiday season one of the most popular spots in Nelson was the back beach at Tahunanui where the Nelson Car Club held its 22nd annual beach championships. We have caught something of the excitement of the day in our front cover picture, taken as saloon cars scream down the front straight in the provincial saloon car championship. The title was won by Nelson driver, John Wells, in his newly-completed Farina-Ford (No. 9, in foreground).
