Former New Zealand, Central Districts and Nelson cricketer, Ian Leggat and his wife, Monica, were honoured by the Nelson Cricket Association before their departure for Hamilton where Ian has transferred on promotion. The couple were presented with a silver tea service by Mr Syd Guppy, president of the association. Also in the picture are Bill Watson (chairman of the committee) and Arthur Parrott (president of the Ramblers Cricket Club).

Sam Roberts, of Richmond, a Nelson bushman, who is off to New Guinea to join a Canadian minerals firm.

Proprietor of the Belgrove Hotel, Royl Heath, and his wife Ivy, who are off to Australia. They will take up positions as relieving managers of hotels in the Tui Breweries group, and will travel throughout Australia doing this very interesting job. Their daughter, Helene, who is living in Sydney, did her nursing training at Nelson Public Hospital.

In Nelson for a visit to his mother, Mrs Jean Chantaloup, 19 Richmond Avenue, Nelson, and then back to his dentistry practice in London, was Owen Chantaloup, Owen has been in practice in the East End for the last eight years. He was at Nelson College between 1952 and 1957. He's thinking of returning to New Zealand in the near future.
