From First Light to Last
The harrier section of the Nelson Amateur Athletic, Harrier and Cycling Club spent the shortest day running a circuit from the old Post Office in Nelson to Tahunanui and return. Object of the relay was to raise money for the club and for Birthright. The club used 40 runners, ranging from midgets to veterans, to run the circuit for almost nine hours, and in this time they covered 103¾ miles. They raised $254, and $127 of this will be given to Birthright - a fine gesture by all concerned.
Roger Sowman takes a small breather during his run to Tahuna.
