Shifting house, or at least, half a house. The former home of Mr and Mrs Percy Bartosh on "The Cliffs" is removed by truck to a new location. The truck and its load had just been inched down the steep Richardson Street to Wakefield Quay when this picture was taken.

Work on the new fertiliser mixing plant for Kempthorne Prosser and Co., at Appleby, is going on apace. This is the first stage of what will become a phosphate plant in the district.

Got the shock of our lives recently when the vapour trails of a jet aircraft over Nelson suddenly veered off the straight and narrow and made a wide loop as the aircraft turned. We reached for a camera and got a pic before the trail disintegrated. Not to panic, however. Evidently the aircraft was stacked over Nelson because of dense fog at Auckland.
