Big Crowds Visit Show

Gate returns at this year's annual show of the Nelson A. and P. Association were down on previous years, but the association made a big saving on expenditure by not having a "gimmick" act to draw the crowd. Instead it featured a teams' chop in the centre of the show ring, an event which produced a tremendous climax and terrific excitement. At one stage the weather looked threatening, but it remained fine. Above: The Nelson team in the teams' chop event. Left: Last Nelson chopper, Mark Smith, on the jigger board, makes the last blow. Right: Things to see, like kids (four legged, that is), and, below left, things to do, like shooting ducks. Below: A time, for cow and Greg Chisnall, for contemplation.
