An Apology...

In our last issue the caption for wedding, Spriggs-Shotton (above) was applied to the Paterson-Roberts wedding (below). We regret our error and hereby rectify it.

Spriggs-Shotton. At Timaru, Josephine Shotton, formerly of Nelson, to Richard Spriggs, Tima-.ru. Attendants were Peter Loomes, Timaru, Rose Jackson, Nelson, cousin of the bride, Donald Spriggs, Timaru, brother of the groom, best man, and Cathy Wilson, Nelson, chief maid. Miss Leigh-Ann Brosna-han, Timaru, cousin of the groom, was junior maid.

Paterson-Roberts. At All Saints' Anglican Church, Hokitika, Linda, second daughter of Mr and Mrs N. Roberts, formerly of Richmond, to James, eldest son of Mr and Mrs M. Paterson, Kowhitirangl. Attendants were Maleolm Paterson, brother of the groom, Keith Monk, best man, Gaye Erickson, Nelson, chief maid, and Jillian Roberts, sister of the bride, Hokitika. Janet Hunt, Richmond, was a junior maid.

Nelson Bowling Association trophies were presented during a short ceremony at the Nelson Club's green last month. Recipients were (back), Nat Watson and George Osborne (Tahunanui), champion of champions junior pairs. Front: Doug Johnson, who with John O'Kane (inset right), both of Nelson, won the senior champion of champions pairs; Charles Dell (Nelson), champion of champions senior singles; Ray Tantrum (Stoke), who accepted the district pennant for his club, and Frank Chadwick (Tahunanui), whose club won the mid-week pennant. John O'Kane also won the open singles title.

When new kerbing was laid in Colling-wood Street, the trees there did not have to be felled to allow the alterations. Instead the council brought the kerbing round their bases and so they live on.

Two contestants in the Nelson College for Girls' talent quest were Rosemary Keith and Prue Yates who sang a bracket of songs.
