Pony Club's One-Day Event
The Nelson Pony Club was very fortunate with the tricky weather over Easter. Heavy rain slightly softened the Redwood Valley site for the club's annual one-day event but the day was gloriously fine.
Competitors in the novice cross country event receive their riding instructions.
Jan Delaney on "Dazzle" puts in a little practice before the senior cross country.
Club stalwart, George McMurtry, covered the cross country course on a uni-cycle (not recommended for riding, but measuring).
A little practice also, for Donna Jacobsen, on "Harbour Light".

"Messala", Jane Carnahan's pride and joy, enjoy's a little of Buck Carnahan's lunch. Jane went on to win the junior section.
Keeping one eye on the camera and another on the sandwich is Robyn Johnston's "Golden Shadow".
