When Ruth and Stan Haycock, of 12 Wainui Street, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently, two.of their guests were Mrs Haycock's bridesmaids of 50 years earlier. They are seen here with the maids, Edith Hammond, Stoke, and Irene Pieldhouse, of Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs Haycock have six children, 20 grand-children and one great-grandchild.

Mr and Mrs. P. R. Whitford, of 34 Bledisloe Avenue, Stoke, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with relatives and friends at a dinner at the Kozy Corner restaurant, Tahunanui.

Well-known Nelson darts player, Pat Mahuika, returned to Nelson recently after representing New Zealand against Australia and taking part in the Australasian championships. His biggest thrill, however, was in beating last year's Australasian champion in the singles. In the Australasian championships he played through to quarter finals before elimination.

In 1967, Mrs Pamela Neal of Nelson won the Pen-women' s Club of New Zealand's cup for a senior poem. Then, to complete the double, her mother-in-law, Mrs Pearl Neal, won the same trophy. The contest for which they entered is a national one.
