Talent Quest Final Night

A capacity audience packed the Opera House for the final night of the Waihirere Maori Club's £100 talent quest.

Each of the ten finalists performed in turn, after which, by popular vote, the winners were announced and presented with their cash prizes by the Public Relations Officer, Mr David Clarke.

The Quintikis, a six-piece band from Auckland, and Gisborne's teenage singer, Julie Nelson, entertained the audience for the second half of the programme.
