Golden Fleeco Winners' Demonstration

The successful shearing and wool-handling team from Gisborne which won the North Island Golden Fleeco championships at Mas-terton last month, demonstrated their prowess at an exhibition night at the Gisborne Showgrounds shearing shed recently.

After the demonstration, the team were presented with their trophies, a large silver-plated cup and four individual tankards, by the chairman of the Eastern Districts Shearing and Wool-handling Committee, Mr Vaughan Field. The team also won a trip to Australia where they are to compete in shearing events at the Sydney Royal Show.

Pictured on this page are three of the team in action. Unfortunately, the other fleeco, Mrs Edwards, was unable to attend the function.
