Mercantile Swimming

The Gisborne Swimming Club's annual mercantile relay attracted over 50 entries and a large enthusiastic crowd to once again make it an outstanding success. Excitement ran high, and many a close finish was seen to bring the barracking crowd to its feet as it endeavoured to urge the swimmers to victory.

The eventual winner was Gregory and Allan who narrowly defeated Holmes Motors (C) and Public Trust (B) in the thrill-packed final.
