Midget Car Thrills

A recent Saturday afternoon meeting of the Gisborne Motor-Cycle and Midget Car Club provided the drivers with a good afternoon's sport and the spectators with plenty of thrills. Three cars from Rotorua took part. There were no serious accidents, hut several close calls had the crowd on its toes.

Dave Warrender, Gisborne, struck a patch of trouble when his car skidded sideways and Ivan Gray bore down on hint.

Gray collided, but cleared and went on his way

Ernie Brown squeezes between Warrender and 8 the track edge, travelling at speed

Basil Kendrew whizzes past, but Dave stays put, very much pushed this way and that.

Thanks For The Telephone Calls....

"If it looks like a News Photo, ring Photo News" is a line we keep plugging, and this note is to express our thanks to all those readers who think of us when they see something unusual. The words they pour into our receptive ears helps to make a better "Photo News" for all our readers.

There are times, of course, when it is not possible for us to come when we are called, depending on the news value of the subject, but if you think it looks like a News Photo, then Photo News would certainly still like to hear about it.
