Lady Godiva Was There

The occasion was a gala afternoon held at Mr Langford's property at Matawhero, to aid funds for the Te Hapara School Jubilee. Our Roving Camera, arrived on the scene, found its lens trained on none other than Lady Godiva, complete with long blonde tresses and big white horse.....and bathing costume. She was part of a circus programme staged by local residents in a scrim-enclosed ring. ("Only a bob to see the show....come right in!")

It was a bright and sunny afternoon (something of a rarity this summer), and all present had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

The Langfords were out in force for the occasion, mounted on a variety of horseflesh. In this picture, taken during the grand parade, are Tom, David, Clyde and Bruce.

A nice warm smile for the camera.
