Major Searancke is a member of Gisborne Jaycee Inc., and has been elected a National Vice President of N. Z. Jaycee, the first Gisborne Jaycee to achieve this honour.

Miss Diane Maloy, of Tekauwhata, who was first head prefect of Gisborne Girls' High School, left this month with a fellow-teacher on the "Arcadia" for a trip to England and the continent. They will return via Canada and America.
