It was a big month for Margaret Pollard, the 17 year old winner of the "Photo News" competition to find Gisborne's Outdoor Girl of the Year.
Not only did she win the competition, she was also a debutante at the St. Mary's Ball, and on top of that she announced her engagement, to Lawrence Stuart.
So when we took Margaret round the business houses of our contest co-sponsors, you can be sure that she had one eye on her glory box!
