Digger at the Door

Shopkeepers in Kaiti were sorely tried this month by the deep sewer trench being cut along the south side of Wainui Road. At the Harris Street intersection the trench was only a few inches from shop fronts, and a verandah was removed to allow the mechanical digger to operate. Access to shops was at times almost impossible.
