High School Memories
On a recent sunny afternoon, what is now the Gisborne Boys' High School, was visited by three of the school's original 1st day pupils, whose memories of G.H.S. go back to February 1888.
With the present rector Mr A. J. Gray and head prefect Ron Crawshaw, they are Mrs L. S Hughes, Mr J. C. Graham and Mrs A. Thomson.
A picture that harks back to 1911, shows a G.H.S. boys cookery class. From left to right: back row; E. Jones, H. Fitzgerald, H. Blair, E Williams, E. Craig, E. Nolan; front row; G. Jones, S. Macley, Miss Marion Higgins (domestic science mistress), J. Reade, S. Redstone.
