One of the items at the Autumn Carnival which was as short as it was entertaining, and which many people considered could be developed into one of the show's major numbers, was the "Drag Race", In this, daring young men rode the contraptions seen on this page, towed at high speed by Land Rovers. There were thrills aplenty as they planed over the oval.
