Salisbury Road kiddies, inspired by the sight of surf life saving club teams practising on the beach, have found a new game to play. These young members of the Amann, Cleaver, and Morse families are right on the job in these pictures taken by Mr Amann. Their improvised reel looks to be working well as team goes into action in picture at right.

There has been a revival of interest in marching among girls in Gisborne. These two pictures were taken at inaugural parade at Childers Road reserve. Marching develops posture, poise, and sense, of rhythm, as a sport for girls is indigenous to N.Z.

"Monk's Bomb" as it is affectionately known, is a well-known attraction at Gisborne gatherings. The front wheels are off the ground as often as not, and the back wheels are off-centre. After the recent air pageant, flying types enjoyed a "do" at Darton Field. Two of the visitors, lacking transport to their hotel at Matawhero, managed the difficult journey without incident. At least the "bomb" was there next morning.
Must have been a bumpy "flip".
